The best home hand masks. Uber-effective!

The best home hand masks. Uber-effective!

Hey everyone!

If the skin of your hands has been cracking and breaking recently (mostly due to all the sanitizers and disinfectants), it’s time for some hand repair! Trust me, you have to take up some action now before it’s too late.

Some time ago, a few weeks or so, I witnessed the severity of hand sanitizing when I noticed that the skin on my knuckles was breaking! So dehydrated it was! Obviously, a regular hand cream wouldn’t repair the damage caused to my skin. Girls, believe me or not but I had to test a dozen of hand masks to deal with this awfully painful problem. Obviously, I went for the homemade enhancers and remedies to avoid the preservatives and alcohols that commercial hand masks are formulated with. Today I feel almost like an expert in the subject of home hand masks, therefore without further ado, I’d like to present you with the best DIY hand masks.

The first is LEMON and HONEY hand mask

Prepare:

  • 2 spoons of warm milk
  • 2 spoons of honey
  • 3-4 spoons of fresh lemon juice

Start with warming up two spoons of milk but make sure it’s not too hot, unless you want to scald the skin. Later, add honey and combine both ingredients. Finally, pour the lemon juice that you’ve just squeezed out. The hand mask should be rather thick, therefore if you think that it’s too runny, add more honey. Okay, once you’re ready, apply the mask to your hands and later wrap them with food foil. Let the mask sit for 20-30 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Later I suggest applying some hand cream.

Why do I recommend you this hand mask? To me, this is the finest combination of simple ingredients that visibly improve the skin of hands. Lemon juice is able to brighten up the skin and is antiseptic. When it comes to honey, well it’s also antiseptic but apart from that, it also nourishes and repairs the skin mainly because of high vitamin content.

The second idea is COTTAGE CHEESE hand mask

Prepare:

  • 50 g cottage cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 spoon of avocado or almond oil

Combine cottage cheese either with avocado oil or almond oil. Actually you can choose any other vegetable oil that is unrefined and cold-pressed (I love argan oil). Add an egg yolk and keep stirring until you get an even mass. Now, apply the mask to the hands (where else would you like to apply it, right?) and again wrap the hands with food foil. You can rinse the home hand mask after 10 minutes and follow with some moisturizing hand cream.

Why do I like this hand mask? Well, cottage cheese is a potent moisturizer that is also able to improve skin’s resilience. When it comes to vegetable oils, they contain a number of good fatty acids, flavonoides, plant sterols and even UV filters!

My third idea is MILK and POTATO hand mask

Prepare:

  • 2 boiled potato
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 spoons of milk

Boil the potatoes and let them cool down. Then mash them with a fork and combine with the remaining ingredients (milk and an egg yolk) to create a thick mass. Now, apply the mask to the hands, wrap with foil and let it sit for 20 minutes. Again, rinse and follow with a moisturizing hand cream.

Why this hand mask? Mainly because of the potatoes. They supply the skin with proteins and starch, which results in nourished and smooth hand skin.
