My ways of keeping the hands enviable

Hey!

I’d like to devote today’s post to the topic of hand care. Since every day we use our (in most cases bare) hands to do various activities, they deserve to receive good conditioning treatments. Frequently, others judge us by the way our hands look, and due to being constantly exposed to various aggressors, the skin loses its smoothness awfully fast. How to prevent this?

How to maintain the hand’s good-looks?

Hands tell a lot. They reveal our state of health, our current occupation and even the type of people we are. Some people can even tell how old we are by taking a glance at our hands! Since we should pay special attention to our hands, I’d like to share with you a few proven tricks on how to develop good hand care habits and enjoy flawless looking skin.

Hand washers

Are your hands constantly dry and irritated? Don’t reach for just a regular bar of soap or any other harsh cleansers. Instead, try using a hypoallergenic emulsion for hands and applying a moisturizing hand cream after every washing. It should create a protective coating on the skin’s surface. Additionally, it’s a good idea to use gentle washing gels that have either acidic or neutral pH. Fragrance-free soaps should also serve their purpose.

Hand care

If you don’t do this already, remember to towel dry the hands thoroughly after every washing. This will prevent skin dehydration. In addition, your hand skin would be grateful for being regularly exposed to a mechanical exfoliation. This will help you to achieve smooth hands – you will get rid of dead skin cells.

Hand scrub

A scrub formulated with fine abrasive particles does nothing but good to the hands. Do you know what the best about it is? You can make such products at home! Just make sure that your homemade hand peel works gentler than a body scrub. Combining withe sugar with olive oil. Massage your homemade scrub into the damp hand skin. When used on a weekly basis, you will get rid of calloused skin, which looks and feels nasty. Additionally, such treatment will replenish the skin with nutrients and water. Remember to apply the hand scrub using circular motions. Be gentle.

Oils and almonds

Grind a few almond nuts and combine the almond powder either with baby oil or olive oil. Actually, you can add a few drops of lemon juice too. Keep rubbing this diy hand scrub into your hands for a few minutes and then follow with a hand cream.

When it comes to the hand cream…

always keep it close at hand! Your hands will never be luscious if you don’t treat them with a fine hand scream a few times a day. If you don’t have your favorite cream yet, reach for a cosmetic infused with hyaluronic acid and urea. Do you suffer from some skin ailments? Better visit a dermatologist.

Herbal infusion

Common marigold is a rich source of vitamin C. Dipping your hands in marigold infusion will help you regenerate the skin and improve its defensive mechanisms.

Potatoes

Mash two boiled potatoes and combine them with an egg yolk. Add a few spoons of warm milk. Apply this sticky mass to the hands, wrap with foil and remove after 15 minutes. Follow with a moisturizing cream. Potatoes will supply your hands with proteins and other nutrients. Vitamin C that potatoes also have will leave the hand skin rejuvenated and visibly brighter.

Protection first

You run, do the cleaning up, exercise. Add the freezing weather and you have the perfect recipe for dehydrated hand skin. To prevent this, always put on gloves! Keep your hands protected, don’t expose them to aggressive cleansers (including the detergents). Also, do your best to steer clear of mechanical damage. All of this is really important if you want to keep your hands in a perfect condition. I guess you’d agree with me saying that hand skin is pretty demanding but we don’t pay enough attention to help it stay healthy.

Be gentle to your hands and don’t expose them to any type of danger that I’ve enumerated above. But most of all remember to treat the hands to conditioning treatments regularly.
