My Top Remedies for Dull, Dry Hair

My Top Remedies for Dull, Dry Hair

I often get questions about my remedies for dull, shine-less hair. I’m sure you’re going to like today’s post. Enjoy the read!

I tested tons of products to find the best daily routine for my hair. I was observing my hair, checking its reaction to different cosmetics. This is how my knowledge about hair care got broader and I’d love to share my top tips with you.

Why is my hair dull and lifeless?

Many girls ask the same question. I did the same. Every time I looked in the mirror I wondered what ruined my hair. I used masks and conditioners so what was the reason for damage? Finally I figured out I didn’t know how to handle the strands.

Despite tons of tricks I tried, my hair was getting worse and even though I thought I took great care of my strands, this wasn’t true.

There are lots of causes of dullness, including us ruining the hair. Sometimes, the health problems, unhealthy diet, body dehydration or genes take the hair shine away. What if we are the wrongdoers? How do we make hair dull? Regular heat styling, coloring, bleaching, hot airflow of a dryer, harsh styling… I could list the causes endlessly. Strong stress also weakens the body and makes hair lose shine.

Incorrect hair care makes hair dull. Do you overuse styling products like I used to? This leads to loss of gloss and overburdened strands. Staying in the sunlight and lack of sun protection brings miserable results too. A shield against the harmful rays is a must.

How to make hair shine brilliantly?

Above all else, remember that hair is exceptionally prone to breakage, damage and negative effect of weather conditions. Remember to follow a few simple rules for happier hair.

Regularly trim ends to keep hair nourished and shiny. You should cut the ends off even, or especially, if you try to grow long hair. Wrong brushing technique, pulling out, aggressive washing – all this makes hair lose its shine, causing breakage and hair loss at the same time.

Keep your hair hydrated. If you use moisturizing products regularly your hair will be grateful. Use oils and butters matching your hair type. Don’t forget about the sunscreen. Protect your hair against the damaging solar radiation. Also, choose mild shampoos that don’t irritate or dry out the scalp.

Make hair shine naturally

Use only cool water to rinse the hair: cuticles keep closed so hair is super smooth and luminous. Let the hair dry naturally. If you need to use a dryer, always keep it cool. Before getting a curling wand or flat iron, always use heat protectants. This way you can prevent damage.

Reading the ingredient list is another thing you must remember. Always choose products that suit the real needs of your hair – its type and porosity. Ill-suited products bring adverse effects and ruin the hair.

Use masks and conditioners. Never forget to nurture the hair with a repair product after shampooing, ideally it should be enriched with oils or butters. This is the best way to get rid of dry, split ends.

Correct hair-care routine and right products are essential to keep hair healthy and make it shine wonderfully!
