Choosing the perfect mascara has always been a challenge for me. Some products work well, others are worse, but I guess it’s the same in your case. When browsing through beauty sites, I saw mascaras that I never came across before. I was dying to test these!
What things have I considered when evaluating mascaras?
I picked out four mascaras that I didn’t use before. These were new to me so I was really looking forward to testing and seeing the results.
While evaluating each mascara I considered factors that matter to me, and I’m sure they are important to you too. I mainly focused on:
- how long mascara stays on; nobody likes mascara flakes and clumps.
- brush; it needs to tackle problems with applying mascara on shortest lashes.
- results; I checked whether mascaras produce effects as promised by the producer.
I should also mention that I have quite short and thin lashes so the effects I’m describing refer to this lash type.
4 Mascaras Tested – My Results and Evaluation
I tested each mascara for a day. I didn’t do any touchups or add layers during the day. I wore the mascaras from morning till night, watching how they do on the lashes during wear.

1. Nanolash Mascara
MY RATING: 10/10
The Nanolash Mascara became my favorite after just one day of wear! It is a jackpot that totally fulfills my expectations towards mascara. There’s absolutely nothing to pick on.
Just a single brushstroke was enough to leave my lashes perfectly separated and clump-free. I believe the brush takes credit for such results. It’s perfectly shaped and made from silicone. I could envelope the corner lashes with the mascara easily.
From application in the morning until makeup removal before sleep, I didn’t spot any mascara clumps or flakes. There was no panda eyes look which made me so happy with the product. The mascara gave lashes a lifted look, and coated them from the base to the tip.

2. Lashcode Mascara
MY RATING: 9.9/10
The Lashcode Mascara is ranked highly as well. It adds length and thickness to lashes, and comes with a superb brush, like the one in Nanolash mascara. It has a perfect shape and is trouble-free.
The mascara stayed put all day without clumping and flaking. Why is it not ranked the highest then? I didn’t test it on a rainy day so I don’t know how it does in the humidity. However, considering the product’s quality, I think it would do brilliantly.
3. Chanel Le Volume Mascara
MY RATING: 8.4/10
The Chanel Le Volume Mascara comes next. It’s a good mascara which lengthened and slightly thickened my lashes. I can’t complain about the wand; it has a proper shape and I could easily reach the shortest lashes.
The lower score is because of the mascara flaking; I could see mascara flecks on the eyelids at the end of the day. I definitely didn’t like product crumbling.
4. Lancome Oscillation Power Mascara
MY RATING: 7.1/10
The Lancome Oscillation Power Mascara is one more product I tested. I liked the result, but there were some things I think needed improving. The product definitely leaves lashes looking lovely and adds length. I could easily apply one more coating because the mascara dries fast.
As far as the flaws go, the product has a very narrow, thin brush. My lashes started sticking together, and grabbing the corner lashes left me with mascara smudges on the eyelids. I also wish the product was longer-lasting; I spotted the first flakes after just a few hours.
Do you agree with my ratings?
My ranking and evaluation clearly shows that the Nanolash Mascara worked best for me. I’m still using the mascara and love how my eyelashes look. The other picks are okay but they do have some shortcomings.
Without a doubt, you can have other opinions as choosing a mascara is very personal and I totally get that. Remember to pick mascaras that are suited to your expectations and needs. By doing so, you can be sure of achieving the best lash look.
