Good foundation – how to choose it? The test of proven products – the true gems!

A good foundation? You know what, it’s my Holy Grail that I constantly search for. Oh, how many foundations have I tested! But it’s nothing. I bravely test new ones, buy one after another and you benefit from it because you can read my reviews about various cosmetics. Many of them were disappointing, but some of them are true gems. I invite you to read today’s post as we will be discussing a few foundations. The drugstore type.

1. Avon mattifying and antistress foundation

I actually tested two. One highlighting, i.e. classical which is endorsed by Avon for years now as well as the other version that is supposed to be mattifying. I had great hopes for this foundation because I have quite oily skin. How did it work? As it turns out, the mattifying foundation is rolling on my face while the highlighting one is truly perfect and somehow it works great for my oily skin.

2. Oriflame Giordani Gold Liquid Silk Foundation SPF 12

Perfection! Well, almost, because on some days it slightly gathers in the creases of the face. However, apart from it, its very liquid and satin-like foundation is light as a mist and perfectly blends with the skin. It is like a subtle membrane. It is also nice in touch – the face is satin-like and silky smooth. The skin gains a delicate mattifying effect but does not look fake. It is a very good and reliable foundation.

3. Missha M PERFECT COVER BB CREAM SPF42/PA+++ 20ML

Well, it’s not fair, but I had sneaked in the BB cream to this list. However, I treat it as a foundation, mostly because it is available in a few colors and you can choose it according to the skin tone, there is no just one universal shade as it is for most BB creams. The perfect, high-coverage BB cream that perhaps can be quite heavy when applied, but if you use an appropriately small amount of it – you’ll gain the perfect skin for many hours. It’s my beauty revolution of past months.

4. REVLON COLORSTAY FOR OILY AND COMBINATION

Well, this foundation is a thing of legends and every beauty freak knows that when you don’t know what to choose, you can always go for good old Revlon. The one in a version for oily skin is equally good as the one for dry skin. I like this foundation because it perfectly mattifies and provides a flawless skin effect. I admit that I had to learn how to apply it because I think it dries really fast and you cannot make any touch-ups and you cannot apply it too much. However, in general – it’s great. Him Majesty Revlon!

5. RIMMEL LASTING FINISH 25H BREATHABLE

Well… it’s really nice I must say, for about the first two hours. Apparently, the skin is supposed to be breathing but mine, when it gets the air, starts to be very oily. That is all when it comes to the breathable foundation by Rimmel.

6. LORIGINE MINERAL FOUNDATION

Mineral foundation – I tested two and each one is great and I like both the one for mature and dry skin though the latter one looks stunning on my face. I tested it thanks to my friend who has the exact skin type. It looked good on her, but after a few hours, some dry patches appeared, especially on the forehead. The one for mature skin is made better because its pigmentation is better and coverage too. The skin looks more natural for longer.
